Heathrow Airport

The Georgian House Hotel is a great place to stay if you are landing at Heathrow Airport. The hotel is easy to reach from the airport by underground or coach and is situated in the heart of London - a short walk from Buckingham Palace.

Heathrow Airport is the world's busiest international airport. Heathrow is also the world's second busiest cargo port. Regarded as the hub of the aviation world, over 90 airlines have made Heathrow their base.

On 20 November 2001, the Government announced its decision to approve the building of Heathrow's Terminal 5. T5 will allow Heathrow to maintain its position as Europe's leading international hub airport and provide much needed state-of-the-art facilities to help meet the future demand to fly.

Heathrow is the most important employment centre in Europe with 68,000 people employed directly on-airport and 245,000 jobs created nationally, contributing over £5 billion to the economy in just wages. T5 will safeguard around 16,500 jobs as well as create over 6,000 construction jobs.

What to do at Heathrow Airport

Heathrow Airport offers a unique shopping environment with a huge range of world famous designer brands and familiar high street stores, restaurants and bars, all guaranteeing value for money. With tax free prices for all passengers, there's no better place to buy the latest fashions, finish off your outfit with a pair of designer sunglasses or an elegant watch, choose a divine perfume or take home a bottle of fine wine or malt whisky.

The restaurants and bars at Heathrow Airport are continuously evolving to satisfy the tastes of every traveller. To guarantee high quality food and exceptional value for money you'll find a mix of brand names famous the world over and alongside new and interesting concepts, offering everything from coffee the way the Italians drink it in Costa Coffee or a pint of real ale in the Tap & Spile pub, to a classic French menu in Chez Gerard or the finest wine and seafood at the Caviar House Seafood Bars.

Heathrow guarantee that if a restaurant or bar is part of a national chain, you will not pay a penny more than you would on the UK high street. If the unit is non-branded, you will pay average UK high street prices. Children are welcome in all Heathrow Airport restaurants, and in many cases children's menus are available - please ask in the restaurant for more details.
