Visiting Central London

The majority of tourists arriving to London, for a personal hassle free introduction to city, use any of transfer providers servicing between airports and Central London. The service is often cheaper than the equivalent taxi fare, and definitely much less trouble. By taxi, journey time to the centre of London is about an hour (depends on the airport and traffic) and approximately costs £50-£85. To avoid the inevitable queues for taxis, you can book your taxi in advance through Black Cab London. The fastest train service into Central London from Gatwick is the Gatwick Express which travels direct to London Victoria station and operates 7 days a week. The journey takes half an hour. The fastest train service into Central London from Heathrow is the Heathrow Express which travels directly to Paddington station. The journey takes 15 minutes. Trains are non-stop and run every 15 minutes.

Central London Attractions

With over 200 galleries, more than 300 museums and 150 plus events, happening every day, Central London never stops. Enjoy all the ceremonies and pageantry of Royal London - it's what the capital is famous for after all. Visit Royal Residences, all located in Central London, both past and present, including Tower of London, Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace. The Changing of the Guard takes place inside the railings of the forecourt to Buckingham palace. During the 45 minute ceremony the New Guard replaces the Old Guard and a detachment is left at Buckingham Palace with the remaining New Guard marching on to St James Palace.

For a chance to see the Queen's Life Guard, you do not need to leave Central London, just head for a separate ceremony that takes place daily throughout the year at Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall.

Afterwards you just need a pick of other Central London's attractions, from the London Eye to London Zoo and backstage tours to encounters with sharks. Experience the River Thames, taking in the London Eye and Big Ben route. Some of the best views of Central London await, so jump on board!

It seems as there are lots of places to visit for adults, but what can Central London offer our little ones? The Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood houses a collection of toys, dolls and doll's houses, children's costumes and nursery antiques and it is only closed on Fridays.

Central London offers you not only all the attractions above and many others, but also a huge variety of markets, which each has brought its individual style from ages. They are favourite not only for people trying to save or tourists heading for some handmade jewellery or clothes, but also many celebrities cannot avoid popping in. Visit Portobello Market on Friday-Saturday or Camden Market on Sunday and you will understand why there are crowds every market day.

Unfortunately, here we have to stop, because it is impossible to name all the museums, shows, attractions and to express the charm of Central London.
