LOU PESCADOU, 241 Old Brompton Road, 0207 3701057
Of all the restaurants we recommend Lou Pescado is the furthest from georgian House Hotel. However, a twenty minutes jopurney arrive in the heart of France is not bad! To eat in Pescadou’s is to be transported. All the staff are French including Patric, your charming host, and the food is authentic French cuisine. The speciality is seafood, and the seafood plater laden with every kind of shellfish is just amazing. Try the Gin and French coctail, judged by eye and served with a twist of lemon it is serious. Another speciality is the delicate tarte aux pommes which is flamed with calvados at your table. This restaurant has a faithful French clientele, including touring french rugby teams, which is an excellent reflection on the quality of the food. Lou Pescadou is neither close enough nor inexpensive enough to eath there every day, but for a special occasion or a treat it is unbeatable.
THE EBURY, 11 Pimlico Road, 0207 7306784
New head chef Michael Nadra is now really settling into The Ebury producing seasonal delights such as Assiette of Lamb with Potato Gnocchi, Marjoram, Pancetta and Peas in the dining room and classics such as Dover Sole with Capers, Crushed Potatoes and Provencal Vegetables in the brasserie. The brand new summer coctail menu features a Strawberry-Basil Martini along with other delights such as Chocolate Caipirinhas. Full selection of draught lagers and bitters are as popular as ever. Having opened just months ago, they are really now getting into the stride – brilliantly executed food accompanied by quick and efficient service.

“When you walk in you see a twirling staircase leading to the first floor dining room. A door to your right leads you to the brasserie and fish bar. Inside the stylish brasserie there is a circular fish bar with everything ranging from oysters to salmon. Whole lobster, ox tongue, mediterranean prawns, and cream of pea and asparagus soup are all on the menu. The menu has an English style with a touch of French, and amazing drinks. I particularly recommend the Honey Berry drink. The service was quick and good and the waiters were very nice. I really advise you to go there.” Tolly von der Heyde, age 10.
