The Wizard of Oz
The story of the Wizard of Oz is a children's novel written by L. Frank Baum and illustrated by W. W. Denslow. The Wizard of Oz, is the name for the stage play 1902 and also the exceptionally, popular film version starring Judy Garland. Thanks to the movie product in 1939 by MGM, it has become one of the best liked and known stories in the world and has been widely translated.

The show opened on 1st of March 2011 at the London Palladium. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new production of The Wizard of Oz stars Michael Crawford as The Wizard and Danielle Hope, who was the winner of the BBC One hit talent show “Over the Rainbow” as Dorothy, making her West End stage debut. The shows cast also includes Over The Rainbow runner-up from the BBC talent show Sophie Evans who will be covering the part of Dorothy on Tuesdays and when Danielle Hope is on holiday. The other cast members are Hannah Waddingham as the Wicked Witch of the West, Paul Keating as Scarecrow, Edward Baker Duly as Tin Man, David Ganly as Cowardly Lion and Emily Tierney as Glinda.
