Harry Potters Footsteps
Visit the Reptile House at London Zoo
and discover whether you too speak Parselmouth. During school
holidays special Harry Potter days are run for children,
with fancy dress competitions and the chance to meet owls
and snakes up close.
It's great fun to go to King's Cross
Station, and find platform 9 ¾. It's easier than
you would think. The imaginative management has actually
marked out a platform, along with notices for Hogwarts First
Year students, and warnings about keeping owls caged. It
really helps bring the book to life for children.
It's interesting to see some of the locations
for the film. Diagon Alley, with all its wizard shops was
filmed in Charing Cross Road, and Gringotts Bank was actually
created from Australia House on the Strand.
