Making a phone call from the phone box is very straightforward. Phone cards, charge cards or coins may be used. Phone cards can be bought at newsagents, stationers and Post Offices.

If using coins, only 10p, 20p, 50p or £1.00 can be used and then you may get back unused coins, but not change. So if you insert £1.00 coin and make a phone call worth 30p, you will lose 70p. Therefore it is better to have some small change or use cards.
