The Bethnal Green Museum
The Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood has something to interest children and adults alike. Children have the opportunity to dress up in clothes worn by children in the past and play with replica toys. There are coin-operated mechanical toys, a dappled rocking horse and two large replica train model layouts. There are displays of clothes and nursery equipment from days gone by, some are 400 years old. The museum runs activities and events for children. The Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood is free of charge. It is easy to reach by underground on the Central Line to Bethnal Green Station, or by Bus 8 from Victoria Station to Bethnal Green Station. The museum is just 5 minutes from the station on Cambridge Heath Road. To find out about opening times and special events visit www.vam.ac.uk.
