The Theatre Museum
The Theatre Museum is the National Museum of the Performing Arts and a branch of the Victoria and Albert Museum. Like the Victoria and Albert, at the Theatre Museum they have a similarly imaginative approach to catering for children and families. The collections cover most forms of live entertainment and they have a great daily programme of workshops, demonstrations and guided tours. Children have a chance to try out stage make-up and costumes, take to the stage or even learn basic stage techniques, such as sword-fights with Captain Hook. The museum is completely free of charge and is very easy to get to. It is to be found in Russell Street, Covent Garden. You can reach it in 15 minutes from the hotel, by tube to Covent Garden, or a bus to the Strand. To find out more about events and opening times visit theatremuseum.vam.ac.uk. |
