English Afternoon Teas
Restaurant now open for snacks and afternoon tea ...
Full traditional afternoon teas are now being served between 4pm and 7pm in our bright fresh dining room.
Guests can choose to select the full afternoon tea which includes a sample of all the sandwiches, fresh scones and clotted cream, and cakes as well as teas and juices. Alternatively for guests who would like a lighter snack these items can be ordered individually.
The teas include a range of teas, coffees and infusions, as well as a selection of juices.
Sandwiches are prepared to order and include smoked salmon finger sandwiches with watercress, on soft brown bread, egg mayonnaise with cracked black pepper, thinly sliced cucumber finger sandwiches on fresh white bread and honey cured ham, with mature cheddar cheese and vine tomatoes.
Soft plain scones are served with thick clotted cream and home made jams using fruits that are either home grown or gathered wild berries.
Our cakes are home made too, by a trained patissiere, and include all the traditional choices like rich sticky gingerbread loaf and a light, crumbly fruit cake with sultanas and raisins as well as our extremely moist chocolate truffle cake and melting, warm chocolate brownies.
